The munition reportedly struck the roof of the building where dozens of local residents had gathered for the celebration.
Reuters shared video footage and photographs of the incident with four military weapons experts, who stated that the damage was consistent with a direct hit.
Three of the experts stated that the munition was indeed American-made, rather than a “stray Iranian anti-aircraft missile.”
Two US officials confirmed to the agency that the United States had conducted strikes in the Kuhestak area on September 1. Specifically, the city’s telecommunications tower was targeted.
Iranian authorities had previously reported that a wedding ceremony in the southern province of Hormozgan was struck by the US on Tuesday evening.
