Johairy Mola Dominguez, a contestant from the Dominican Republic, won the 73rd Miss World international beauty pageant, which took place in Nha Trang, Vietnam. A representative from Spain placed second, and a contestant from Malaysia came in third.
The organizers launched a series of preliminary events leading up to the main show on August 29. 111 young women who qualified in their respective countries participated.
The finale took place on a specially equipped outdoor stage, designed to accommodate 20,000 spectators. Located near Nha Trang’s main beach, the stage is over 110 meters long and approximately 40 meters wide. The stage is equipped with a multi-level LED screen and powerful lighting and sound equipment.
This is the first time the Miss World pageant has been held in Vietnam. As the organizers noted, preparations for this event included careful location selection, logistical and technical details, and staff training—all aimed at leaving the international community with the most positive impression of the country.
