Amazon.com announced on Sunday evening that it is suspending operations with 21Air—the operator of the cargo plane that crashed in Miami last week, resulting in five fatalities.
“Following the tragic incident last weekend, we have taken time to support the investigation and review the circumstances, and have decided to suspend our operations with 21Air,” Amazon said in a blog post.
“We will continue to support the investigation and all those affected.”
An Amazon Prime Air cargo plane overran the runway and crashed while landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday. Prime Air Flight 7598 collided with several ground vehicles; five other people were injured.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident, and Amazon stated that it is also gathering details about the event.
