Apple has released the first update for iOS 27, version 27.0.1. It contains no new features, only fixes for existing issues.
“For users in Russia and Belarus, the more important news is that the manual 5G activation method appears to still be working,” reports Rozetked.
On 4PDA—home to the guide for activating 5G via CarrierSIM—early adopters who have updated report that their profiles remain intact on iOS 27.0.1. However, there is not yet enough evidence to definitively state that there are no 5G issues with the new firmware.
iOS 27.0.1 addresses the following issues: the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could unexpectedly restart if Face ID failed to authenticate; simultaneously opening Notification Center and Control Center caused the touchscreen to freeze completely on all iPhone models; and a color artifact could appear on photos taken with 2x zoom on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max under specific lighting conditions and an aperture of ƒ/1.48.
