According to the results of a study published on Wednesday, people are almost incapable of distinguishing music generated by artificial intelligence (AI) from music composed by humans. The research firm Ipsos conducted a survey for the French online music streaming service Deezer, during which 9,000 people listened to two AI-generated music snippets and one human-created fragment. As a result, 97% of respondents could not tell the difference between AI-produced music and that composed by a human. Deezer is the only major online music streaming service that systematically labels content entirely created by artificial intelligence for its customers.
