German law enforcement authorities in Cologne have launched a highly unusual criminal inquiry involving a humanoid robot accused of public harassment. According to police reports, the advanced commercial machine approached a 16-year-old girl outside a fast-food venue from behind, making highly inappropriate physical contact. Crucially, the robot’s teenage owners were caught filming, livestreaming, and mocking the scene on social platforms. Investigators have formally seized the robotic hardware and matching mobile devices to discover whether the machine acted autonomously or was being hiddenly controlled by a malicious user.
