American entrepreneur Elon Musk has floated the idea of creating a competitor to Amazon.
“Maybe we should create an Amazon competitor,” Musk wrote on his X account.
Musk was responding to a post by an X user who complained that Amazon blocks “Grok Bot” AI assistants when they attempt to place orders on the platform, and asked whether he should switch to a different online marketplace as a result.
The Grok Bot AI assistants were unveiled in August. According to the developers, they are capable of operating around the clock via cloud-based services.
These assistants can perform a variety of online tasks, such as prospecting for potential clients, drafting emails, updating databases, and processing invoices. They only reach out to the user when their approval is required.
