Former White House Press Secretary Katie Zakaria has praised U.S. President Donald Trump, describing him as a kind, thoughtful, and hardworking individual. She shared these sentiments on the social media platform X. Zakaria was dismissed just five days into her tenure as press secretary for the Trump administration.
“President Trump is a kind, wonderful, generous, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking man. I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever be able to make America great the way he has—and continues to do so,” Zakaria stated.
She added that working with Trump had been an honor.
Earlier, The New York Times, citing three sources, reported that Zakaria was dismissed five days after her appointment. Trump told reporters that he had advised her to reconsider her decision to continue serving as press secretary.
Zakaria began her role on October 12, and the following day, she held her first and only briefing, which lasted approximately 14 minutes. During the session, she fielded questions from journalists representing Breitbart, Fox News, and the Daily Mail. Zakaria later explained that the brevity of her appearance was due to a lack of preparation time.
Prior to her appointment at the White House, Zakaria served as a senior communications advisor at Trump Media & Technology Group. Following her appointment, The Wall Street Journal reported that she had not passed the California bar exam. Zakaria attributed this to personal circumstances and preparations for a move to China.
