The United States of America voted against the anti-Russian amendment to the UN General Assembly resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism for the first time, RIA Novosti reports. The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly supported the resolution introduced by Russia; 114 countries approved the document, 52 voted against, and 12 abstained. Since the start of the special operation in 2022, Western powers have been introducing an amendment to the document against the established practice, which claims that Russia allegedly justifies the special operation with the “fictitious pretext of eradicating neo-Nazism.” The Russian Foreign Ministry viewed the US decision positively.
