Google has expanded the autofill capabilities of its Chrome browser. The company announced that Chrome can now suggest information from a user’s Gmail messages when they are filling out online forms.
Powered by the Gemini AI model, the browser can locate details such as order numbers, package tracking information, and flight booking data within a user’s emails. This eliminates the need to switch back and forth between a form and one’s inbox to find the necessary information.
The feature is currently rolling out in the United States across desktop, Android, and iOS platforms. It is available to Gemini users in Chrome who have enabled “Personal Intelligence”—a feature that allows the use of data from Google services to provide more personalized responses. Users can manage data access or disable this enhanced autofill functionality through the browser’s settings.
Looking ahead, Google plans to add the ability to extract information for form-filling from images stored in Google Photos.
