An international group of researchers has come to an alarming conclusion about a significant increase in episodes of physical aggression in popular pornographic films over the last 25 years. The findings of the study were published in The Journal of Sex Research. For their work, scientists examined 255 of the most viewed videos on Pornhub, posted between 2000 and 2024. Specialists fear that choking could soon become the standard in mainstream sexual culture, as popular searches on pornography platforms shape the viewer’s perception of “acceptable” sexual behavior.
