A dog born with three legs has found employment in the special-purpose criminal investigation department in the Celestial Empire. Information about this is reported by the publication SCMP. A Belgian Shepherd named Barton was born in 2019 in northern China, at a special kennel. Veterinarians advised euthanizing the puppy because he had a congenital disorder in the development of his left front limb and could only move on three legs. However, a dog trainer with twenty years of experience, Li Xiaodong, decided to give Barton a chance. He took him in and began training him. Even though Barton often sustained injuries due to his difference, the dog “demonstrated exceptional abilities and high stress resistance.” And when it came to detaining criminals, the dog behaved “bravely and assertively.” At the age of two, Barton successfully passed certification to receive a service dog identification and officially joined the canine unit responsible for suppressing riots. “No one believed Barton would pass the tests, but he succeeded. He earned his badge through his merits,” emphasized the dog trainer. The story of this Chinese dog deeply touched the hearts of many social media users.
