During a training camp in a Canadian province, a grizzly bear attacked a group of schoolchildren and the accompanying teachers. According to the latest information, eleven people were injured; two of them are in extremely critical condition, and another two sustained significant injuries, as reported by the Daily Mail. One of the teachers, who attempted to shield the students, suffered multiple fractures and injuries of varying severity and was airlifted urgently. Relatives of the injured children report that a number of the students who survived the incident are in a state of deep shock. One of the students recounted that the beast approached so closely that he could physically feel its fur. The aggressive predator has not yet been caught. Law enforcement agencies, together with representatives from wildlife protection services, are patrolling the surrounding area, and the public is strongly advised not to leave buildings and to stay away from forest trails. Some local residents are organizing voluntary patrols at the entrances to the settlements. The school administration has decided to suspend classes for the following day and promises to provide psychological support to the victims. Incidentally, quite recently in Pennsylvania, USA, an eleven-year-old schoolboy managed to avoid a bear attack thanks to the quick reaction of a store employee. The boy noticed the animal near the entrance of a Family Dollar store and tried to hide inside, but the predator followed him. The child maneuvered between the store aisles until he reached the cashier. When the bear hesitated for a moment, the woman quickly led the boy outside, and they managed to take refuge in a car.
