Ant Group’s application called LingGuang, designed for building small applications, surpassed the one million download mark in just the first four days of its existence. The rapid interest so overwhelmed the company that it had to temporarily slow down access to the service to avoid overloading the technical base, as reported by the SCMP publication. By Saturday, this application had reached the top position in the Chinese App Store among free utilities and ranked seventh in the overall list of free programs. The average number of sessions, during which users complete six editing steps for the created application, turned out to be higher than developers anticipated. “Achieving this metric establishes LingGuang as an important player to watch in the rapidly accelerating global competition in the field of AI,” noted Ant Group representatives regarding the success of their AI assistant. LingGuang allows users to create mini-applications simply by entering text commands, effectively providing the user with a “personal AI developer.” After the initial generation, the application can be further refined by continuing the dialogue with the assistant. The platform also offers a standard chat mode with the bot in various languages. “Vibe-coding” has become one of the most sought-after ways to use generative AI, as it allows people without programming skills to create applications based on text instructions. This year, Ant Group doubled its investments in artificial intelligence and established the AGI Lab to accelerate the development of its models. Recall that earlier, “Zhukovsky.Life” reported that Andrey Ternikov, a specialist from St. Petersburg HSE University, presented a step-by-step plan for the safe integration of large language models into the academic environment. His approach assists in identifying weaknesses and minimizing threats associated with erroneous AI responses and the leakage of confidential information.
