The Washington Capitals hosted a special tribute event marking Alexander Ovechkin’s 900th goal and 1500th game in the NHL.
This commemoration took place on the Capitals’ home ice just prior to their game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Ovechkin himself, alongside his family members, were present for the proceedings. The forward was presented with a portrait depicting him and a golden miniature replica of a segment of his stick, engraved with the number “900”.
Previously, an assist from Ovechkin contributed to Washington’s significant victory over Columbus.
Valery Kamensky, the KHL’s Vice President for Development, offered his assessment regarding the prospects of the Washington Capitals forward, Alexander Ovechkin, in surpassing the goal-scoring record held by Canadian Wayne Gretzky, when factoring in playoff statistics.
