US President Donald Trump reported in the White House that his special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner “gained an impression” during their Kremlin meeting about Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s desire to conclude the military actions in Ukraine.
The American politician noted that he is unable to foresee the outcome of the talks.
“What will come of this meeting? I cannot tell you, because it takes two to tango,” Trump stated.
Moreover, he considered the Kremlin encounter “good.”
The five-hour discussions, which took place late on December 2 between Putin, Witkoff, and Kushner, concluded without substantial progress. Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov declared that the main sticking point remained the territorial issue, although some American proposals appeared “more or less acceptable.”
