In Arkham, the sharp rise in TPS was attributed to integrating the Lighter second-layer solution. It employs zero-knowledge rollups designed to boost network throughput. The second-fastest layer-two solution remains Base, handling 100-300 transactions per second.
The daily average TPS across the Ethereum ecosystem yesterday, November 2nd, reached 325, whereas at the start of the year it was 250. Upcoming network upgrades, such as PeerDAS, are anticipated to further increase Ethereum’s capacity.
Arkham noted the recent boost in the gas limit for Ethereum network blocks from 45 million to 60 million. This took effect on November 25th, following validator assent. This modification doubled the blockchain’s capacity—compared to figures from the previous year.
Recently, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin named decentralization as a core operational principle for the network, stating that traders’ distrust in centralized exchanges has intensified due to data leaks and breaches.
