Nearly half of the citizens from nine European Union (EU) nations regard US President Donald Trump as an adversary of Europe. Data from a survey conducted for the Le Grand Continent platform indicate this.
Forty-eight percent of respondents stated they consider the head of the White House an “adversary of Europe.” In September, 44 percent of citizens answered affirmatively to the same query.
The greatest disapproval of Trump is evident among citizens of Belgium (62 percent) and France (57 percent). Citizens of Croatia hold a more moderate view of the American leader—37 percent of respondents view him as an antagonist. In Poland, this figure stands at 19 percent.
Professor of political science Jean-Yves Dormagen, whose remarks are cited by The Guardian, asserted that Europe is currently “undergoing a transformation of its historical, geopolitical, and political environment.”
“Across the entire continent, Trumpism is unequivocally seen as a hostile force,” the expert stated.
Previously, Donald Trump revealed that he was called the President of Europe during a NATO meeting. He added that the United States truly commands respect on the global stage.
