Due to an upper-body injury to Washington Capitals’ second goaltender Charlie Lindgren, the club was forced to urgently sign 35-year-old netminder Parker Milner to a one-game contract. This is reported by the team’s official website.
Lindgren sustained an upper-body injury, and the team is currently on an away series in California. This eliminates the possibility of quickly calling up a goaltender from the AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
Milner, who will serve as a backup to the Capitals’ starting goaltender Logan Thompson, has no prior NHL experience. He retired from professional hockey four years ago, in 2021. Throughout his career, Milner played for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Iowa Wild, and Hershey Bears.
