In Beijing, a youngster unintentionally harmed a golden crown valued at 280 thousand dollars at an exhibition centered on the theme of affection. The artifact belongs to the artist, husband of internet celebrity Zhang Kaiyi. The case was not securely fastened, causing the crown to shatter.
The young attendee at the Beijing exhibition accidentally dropped the golden crown, appraised at 280 thousand US dollars, resulting in substantial damage to the exhibit, according to the South China Morning Post.
As the publication notes, the two-kilogram gold crown was fashioned as a gift by a renowned artist, spouse of the Chinese internet celebrity, Zhang Kaiyi. This creation, alongside works by 86 other masters, was displayed at the Beijing X Museum in Beijing as part of an exhibit dedicated to the concept of love.
In December, sources claim, the crown sustained severe damage. Surveillance footage shared by Zhang Kaiyi on social media depicts a woman photographing the crown while her son cleans the clear protective case to enhance the picture’s clarity. Suddenly, the case, which was not firmly secured to the pedestal, fell, and the crown broke.
Zhang Kaiyi emphasized that posting the video was not intended to seek recompense from the mother and son. She mentioned that the crown is insured, and the losses will be shared among the insurance firm, the museum, as well as herself and her spouse. She also reminded parents about the necessity of supervising children at cultural occasions.
The newspaper reports that online users’ opinions regarding the incident were split. Some blamed the mother and child for the occurrence, while others placed the blame on the exhibition organizers for the insecure mounting of the case on the stand.
