Scientists developed a unique method for rapid oncology detection. Personnel from several scientific organizations created a biosensor able to identify colon, pancreatic, and lung cancer via a saliva sample. Diagnosis time takes merely two minutes.
Currently, blood is utilized for screening because saliva contains too few markers for existing tests. However, the new device employs specific DNA fragments and has heightened sensitivity. The apparatus quickly captures carcinoma-embryonic antigen protein even in microscopic amounts. By operating in dual modes, the machine reduces the possibility of error to practically zero.
It is reported that this technology allows for a simple and painless analysis. The device will enable individuals to perform diagnostics at home independently to notice recurrence promptly.
