The firm Samsung unveiled the Exynos Modem 5410, which facilitates voice and video calls, message exchange, and geolocation via satellites without relying on cellular networks. The publication Techradar reports this news.
The new modem supports 5G data rates up to 14.79 Gbps and incorporates three communication standards: LTE DTC for audio and video transmission, NB-IoT NTN for text messages, and NR-NTN for more demanding operations.
For implementing satellite connectivity, Samsung is partnering with the American satellite service provider Skylo, which might result in regional limits on feature operation.
Concurrently, the corporation introduced the Exynos 2600 mobile processor, intended for deployment in the Galaxy Z Flip8 and Galaxy S26 smartphones.
Official verification regarding the inclusion of the modem with satellite connection in the Galaxy S26 series phones from Samsung has not been provided. According to media reports, the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 is anticipated in February 2026.
