A resident of the U.S. state of Arkansas obtained the jackpot in the historic Christmas Powerball drawing. The publication 40/29 News reported this. The fortunate ticket was purchased at a gas station in the city of Cabot. The prize amount reached an impressive 1.817 billion dollars, which, considering the exchange rate, equals roughly 145 billion rubles.
Interestingly, the winner, even five days after the draw, has not yet come forward to claim their award. As Sharon Strong, Executive Director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, noted:
We hope the ticket holder surfaces soon. To prevent potential complications, we advise them to first discuss all details with their financial advisor and lawyer before visiting the prize payment center.
Concurrently, another major win in Canada remains unresolved. The victor who won one million Canadian dollars a year ago has still not been located. If the winner does not appear by January 4th, the prize money will be redistributed for other purposes.
