A novel facility, ironically dubbed Macrohardrr, is situated near Memphis and will receive electrical power from an adjacent gas power station. Eventually, it is intended to house over a million graphics processing units across all sites.
Musk continues aggressively to expand computational capabilities for his artificial intelligence venture.
Elon Musk took another step in realizing his ambitious artificial intelligence project. His startup xAI acquired a third building to house the Colossus computing cluster.
As the billionaire himself reported on the X social network, the new site was jokingly named Macrohardrr, which is another nod to the competition with Microsoft corporation.
According to The Information, the building is located in the state of Mississippi, close to Memphis. All of Colossus’s infrastructure should ultimately supply up to 2 GW of power and host over a million graphics processors, primarily manufactured by Nvidia.
To finance the procurement of costly hardware, xAI planned to raise up to $20 billion in 2025 through stock sales and bond issuance.
