This is the greatest total of points achieved by any NHL player in a single calendar month since December 1995, when Mario Lemieux gathered 34 points in 14 contests for “Pittsburgh.” 30-year-old Nathan MacKinnon played 14 matches that month, scoring 14 goals and registering 12 assists. 19-year-old Macklin Celebrini recorded 25 (8+17) points in 14 outings during December.
