NEW YORK, January 2. /TASS/. The United States will perish if radical leftists triumph in the Congressional midterm elections in November. This opinion was expressed on January 1 by American entrepreneur Elon Musk.
“America is finished if the radical left prevails. They will open the floodgates for illicit immigration and deceit. This will no longer be America,” he wrote on his X page.
Thus, the billionaire commented on reports that he is providing financial backing to the Republican Party to help it win the November elections and retain command over both chambers of the U.S. Congress.
In mid-December, the Axios portal, citing sources, reported that Musk had begun funding Republican electoral campaigns ahead of the 2026 midterm elections for the House of Representatives and the Senate. As the portal pointed out, this signals a warming of the businessman’s relations with U.S. President Donald Trump following their falling out last summer.
The U.S. Congressional midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. The entire roster of the House of Representatives—435 members—will be up for re-election, as well as one-third of the senators—33 individuals. Currently, Republicans control both chambers. As the Wall Street Journal noted, the ruling party typically suffers setbacks in midterm elections.
