
In the USA, Julius Campbell celebrated his 100th birthday, and he is still working as a traffic controller, writes People.
“I feel deeply loved, and I am thankful to everyone who made me who I am,” the centenarian admitted in a conversation with the tabloid.
Campbell is a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees and also worked as an educator in Milwaukee. Currently, he is employed as a crossing guard near an elementary school.
“I highly value the camaraderie, personal connections, affection, and esteem I have developed with the community I have served for so long. <…> I do not wish to lose the love and bond with this wonderful populace,” Campbell added.
At age 14, he realized his calling was to be a preacher. Campbell continues to assist families in need by gathering books, clothing, and groceries for them.
The man does not plan to retire yet and hopes to live to be 104. Over recent decades, he has received several accolades for his community service, including from the local police department, People noted.

The future record holder was born on March 1, 1933; his parents were immigrants from Italy, Gennaro and Cristina Palermo; there were six children in total in the family. Ross Palermo began working as a plumber in 1951 after graduating high school. In 1953, he was drafted into the military during the Korean War. After his service, he worked for others, and in 1965, he founded the company R&G Plumbing, Inc., sharing management with colleague Glenn Bennett, and in the 1990s, he started his own venture. Palermo is married, with five children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
