Despite dismantling Madrid’s Atlético in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg, FC Barcelona’s journey in the tournament has concluded.
The fixture, held at Camp Nou, finished with a decisive 3-0 victory for the Blaugrana. Goals were netted by Marc Bernal (in the 29th and 72nd minutes) and Raphinha (50th minute), who successfully converted a penalty kick.
Atlético had secured a commanding 4-0 win in the initial encounter, thus prevailing on aggregate over the two legs. This result propels Atlético into the Copa del Rey final for the first time since the 2012/13 season. Barcelona, in contrast, were the reigning champions.
The identity of the second finalist will be determined following Wednesday’s clash between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club. In their first leg, Real Sociedad managed to secure an away win with a scoreline of 1-0.
