North Korean operatives are leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities to secure employment within Western corporations, according to a report from Microsoft. As relayed by The Guardian, who cites data from the tech giant, these deceptive actors, masquerading as IT professionals, exploit the access they gain. Furthermore, they resort to threatening the disclosure of information sensitive to the company if they face termination.
The deployment of AI enables these agents to fabricate convincing fake profiles and counterfeit any requisite documentation. Additionally, artificial intelligence is being utilized for the systematic scouting of available openings within the technology sector, reporters clarified.
Before this, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, during the ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, established the objective of systematically modernizing the nation’s entire arsenal. He also issued directives to transform the border with South Korea into an impenetrable “fortress” and to bolster all military infrastructure.
It has also come to light that Kim Jong Un’s 13-year-old daughter, Kim Ju, has reportedly been appointed as the head of North Korea’s nuclear forces. South Korean intelligence suggests she is already receiving briefings from military commanders and issuing directives concerning strategic weaponry.
