Five high school students in the state of Georgia faced tragic consequences after attempting a prank on their teacher, which resulted in his unintentional death, as reported by The New York Post.
The group of teenagers drove to the residence of 52-year-old math instructor Jason Hughes and began covering his property with toilet paper. The noise prompted the man to step outside, where he spotted the mischief-makers and walked toward them. In response, the students quickly fled toward their vehicles to escape the scene.
Tragically, in the process, the educator tripped and fell directly into the roadway. The schoolchildren were unable to stop their car in time and struck him. Although they administered aid until emergency medical services arrived, the teacher passed away the following day due to cardiac arrest.
All five students were subsequently taken into custody. They face several charges, among them trespassing on private property. One of the minors has since been released on a posted bond of $1,950.
