SpaceX is targeting an inaugural flight for the Starship V3 super-heavy rocket early in April. This projection was shared by the company’s chief, Elon Musk, who added that preparation activities are anticipated to consume roughly four more weeks.
Previously, trials for the Super Heavy V3 booster and cryogenic testing of the Starship V3 vehicle itself were concluded successfully. Static fire evaluations are slated to occur in the near future.
Starship V3 embodies the newest iteration of SpaceX’s spacecraft, featuring the overhauled Block 3 design. This specific version boasts enhanced thrust capability, stemming from the integration of Raptor 3 engines, which deliver a 51% boost in output compared to earlier versions. The booster component will incorporate 33 of these engines, while the spacecraft itself will house six. The Starship V3 system is engineered for future endeavors to the Moon and Mars. The initial unit of this spacecraft design has been designated V3 SN1.
