Nikita Kucherov, the Russian forward for the Tampa Bay Lightning, has now tallied his 120th career assist in Stanley Cup games, as confirmed by the NHL’s official press service.
During Sunday’s first-round playoff contest where Tampa Bay ultimately fell to Montreal 3-4 in overtime, Kucherov registered a pair of assists, marking his 119th and 120th helpers across his league playoff history.
This achievement positions the Russian as the 13th player ever to reach this milestone, and the second among all Russian players. Sergei Fedorov currently holds the Russian record with 124 assists. Evgeni Malkin ranks third among Russians with 114.
The all-time record for assists in league history is held by Wayne Gretzky, who amassed 260.
Among active NHL skaters, only Sidney Crosby currently surpasses Kucherov, boasting 130 career playoff assists.
