The Tampa Bay Lightning secured a victory against the Montreal Canadiens in the sixth game of their NHL playoff first-round series.
The contest concluded in overtime with a final score of 1-0.
Russian forward Nikita Kucherov was penalized two minutes for tripping just six minutes into the extra period. Nevertheless, Tampa successfully navigated the shorthanded situation and, in the tenth minute of overtime, managed to score the winning goal while facing elimination. Gage Goncalves is credited with the decisive goal.
Andrei Vasilevskiy guarded the victors’ net, stopping every one of the 30 shots directed his way.
Consequently, the series tally now stands at 3-3.
