The Grok development team has unveiled the integration of their chatbot within vehicles that support Apple CarPlay. This means the proprietary AI can now be utilized directly during a drive, allowing interaction via voice commands without needing to physically handle a smartphone.
As of 2026, Apple CarPlay is supported across more than 800 different car and motorcycle models. This technology has become the benchmark for the majority of contemporary vehicles, covering models from 2017 through 2026, with certain manufacturers adopting it as standard across their entire lineup.
This service is specifically tailored for the in-car environment. Drivers will be able to pose queries, receive immediate replies, request concise summaries, or delegate various tasks while traveling, all through voice commands. The company is prioritizing user convenience and safety, given that all interaction is facilitated hands-free.
The inclusion with Apple CarPlay stands poised to significantly broaden Grok’s user base, particularly given the increasing public enthusiasm for AI assistants.
Previously, SpaceXAI introduced Grok Computer—a major advancement for Grok that propels the AI far beyond the scope of a conventional chatbot. The system now possesses comprehensive access to file systems and the command line, enabling it to autonomously execute actual tasks on a computer, rather than just suggesting potential solutions.
Furthermore, SpaceXAI announced the release of the definitive version of the Grok 4.3 model, which had been undergoing beta testing for the past several weeks.
Prior to this, Elon Musk declared the complete merger of xAI and SpaceX. The xAI company will cease to function as an independent entity and will instead become a new division within SpaceX, rebranded as SpaceXAI. The company also rolled out Grok Imagine Quality Mode, a novel image generation feature now accessible via the platform’s API.
