Since 1976, Bonnie Tyler has recorded 18 studio albums. Her latest collection, The Best Is Yet to Come, was released in 2021. In 2023, she published her autobiography, Straight From the Heart. The singer’s last public performance was in March at a concert in London.

Tyler first achieved widespread recognition in the late 1970s thanks to her tracks “Lost in France” and “It’s a Heartache.” However, she ascended to global superstardom in 1983 following the release of the album Faster Than the Speed of Night, Page Six recalled. Her hits include the iconic songs “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero.”
During the solar eclipse in 2023, the popularity of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” on Spotify surged dramatically. “Every time there’s an eclipse, everyone around the world plays ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart,’ and I never tire of singing it,” Tyler admitted at the time. The singer also shared that people often asked if she got sick of the track, to which she responded, “Not at all, I enjoy singing that song, everyone enjoys singing that song, it’s a karaoke classic.”
Last year, Tyler asserted that she has no intention of retiring. “I’ve been singing since I was 17 and never even imagined I’d still be doing it at this age. I’ve had to slow down a bit, but I now know I will never retire,” the singer clarified.
Tyler was born on June 8, 1951, in Skewen (South Wales, UK); her birth name is Gaynor Hopkins. The celebrity’s parents always said they had seven children, though her sister, Pauline, was stillborn. At that time, doctors did not show such infants to the parents, and Tyler’s mother grieved and worried throughout her life that she never held her daughter or said goodbye, the singer told The Guardian.
Tyler provided financial support to her family ever since she recorded her first hit. For instance, she purchased a home for her parents. “It’s just fantastic when you have such a successful career and the means to help,” she noted.
According to IMDb, Tyler is married to Robert Sullivan. They made their union official in 1973. Tyler was 23 years old at the time; the couple had been dating for four years prior to their wedding.
