In Florida, USA, veterinarians successfully removed a valuable gold accessory from a dog’s stomach during an emergency surgery, as reported by Newsweek. According to the publication, a five-year-old dog named Edward was initially brought to the clinic from a shelter due to an injured paw.
During the examination, the medical staff unexpectedly discovered an additional issue: foreign objects were lodged in his stomach and large intestine. The dog’s condition was deemed critical, prompting a surgical procedure. During this operation, a 750-karat gold necklace was retrieved. The exact circumstances or location where Edward ingested the jewelry remain unknown.
Currently, the canine is recuperating under close veterinary supervision, and his health is considered good. However, he still faces another surgical intervention – the amputation of his injured limb. This procedure was postponed initially due to anemia.
