Juan faces criminal charges.
A trial has commenced in Taipei involving a woman surnamed Juan, who stands accused of sexually harassing a taxi driver. Mothership reported on this development.
The incident transpired on November 29, 2025. After an evening out at a karaoke bar with friends, Juan summoned a taxi. During the ride, she allegedly began propositioning the driver for sexual favors and, upon his refusal, proceeded to touch him inappropriately in the groin area. The taxi driver repelled her hand, but the passenger, seated in the back, then reached and placed her hand inside his trousers.
According to the driver’s account, he was unable to stop on the highway, so he continued to drive the woman to her destination before reporting the incident to the police.
During the investigation, Juan admitted to touching the driver but denied any intention of sexual assault. She also claimed no recollection of the driver resisting her advances. These statements have been contradicted by the evidence gathered. On May 21st, both parties indicated in court their willingness to resolve the dispute swiftly.
