The French journalist from Le Parisien, Benjamin Quares, has stated that the management of the club “Paris Saint-Germain” intends to extend the agreement with the Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
“As far as I know, PSG will offer Safonov an extension of his contract on improved terms after his vacation. I don’t know the exact details, but I believe the new agreement with Matvey will be valid until the summer of 2031 – that’s the maximum duration in the French championship,” Quares was quoted as saying by “RBSport.”
According to insider information, Matvey Safonov’s current salary at PSG is 250,000 euros per month. His present contract expires in June 2029.
Previously, it was reported that Safonov has become the most expensive Russian footballer at present – the Transfermarkt portal values the goalkeeper at 30 million euros. His teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, on the other hand, has taken the top spot in the list of the most valuable players in Ligue 1 – the Georgian forward’s current valuation stands at 140 million euros (+50 million over the past season).
