BGR, a media outlet, has published an article detailing new functionalities for Android devices.
The report highlights that Google has initiated the rollout of update 26.21 for Google Play Services, which is set to introduce several significant features to smartphones. Google has emphasized that this update isn’t exclusively for phones; certain capabilities will also be extended to tablets and televisions.
A primary improvement identified by experts is the streamlined process for importing and exporting passwords. Device users will now be able to transfer credentials between third-party password managers and Google Password Manager. BGR explains this is facilitated by a “new secure standard for credential exchange.”
Furthermore, the Google team has introduced a revamped design for Play Store dialog boxes across smartphones, Android Auto, and Android TV. An additional enhancement to the Google Play Store is its newfound ability to locate content embedded within applications through search. The 26.21 update will be rolled out to smartphone and other device users in a phased manner.
Earlier in June, BGR specialists had previously commented on the virtual RAM expansion feature in Android smartphones, labeling it as potentially detrimental. According to the publication’s authors, this feature might actually slow down high-performance smartphones, despite its ability to offer a slight speed boost to less powerful devices.
