This visit occurs at a time when Samsung is undergoing a significant overhaul of its operational frameworks and corporate ethos, driven by the expanded adoption of AI-powered tools and systems.
This will mark Altman’s first visit to South Korea in approximately eight months. During his previous visit in October, he engaged in separate meetings with Samsung Electronics’ Executive Chairman, Lee Jae-yong, and SK Group Chairman, Chey Tae-won.
Following those previous engagements, OpenAI entered into memorandums of intent with both Samsung and SK Group to collaborate on developing global AI infrastructure. This collaboration laid the groundwork for broader strategic alliances, Yonhap further stated.
