Cristiano Ronaldo has now gone ten consecutive matches without scoring for Portugal in World Cup and European Championship tournaments. This marks the longest goalless streak of his career in major international competitions.
The 41-year-old forward played the entire match against DR Congo in the first round of the 2026 World Cup, which ended in a 1-1 draw, but he did not register any goals or assists.
In addition to this latest match, Ronaldo also failed to score in his nine previous appearances at major tournaments. These include five games at Euro 2024 and four matches at the 2022 World Cup, where the Portuguese star was also unable to find the back of the net.
Ronaldo’s most recent goal in a tournament of this caliber was scored against Ghana during the 2022 World Cup, in a match that Portugal won 3-2.
