A group of researchers, known as Mysk, has accused Apple of violating user privacy within the App Store. According to the experts, the Personalized Collections section tracks every tap a user makes on their device’s screen while navigating the platform.
The Personalized Collections feature functions as a recommendation system, selecting games and applications based on an analysis of the user’s behavior and interests. This tool is also leveraged by developers to promote their digital products and subscriptions. Mysk representatives emphasize that this mechanism is enabled by default for all users and lacks a deactivation option.
Based on expert assessments, the system’s capabilities allow it to collect vast amounts of data, down to calculating the user’s typing speed. All gathered analytics are incorporated into a comprehensive package of personal information that device owners can request via the official service at privacy.apple.com. The researchers believe this grants the company access to detailed activity statistics within the App Store. It was previously reported that installing the iOS 27 operating system could lead to rapid battery drain and malfunctions in the app store.
