The companion of Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev had her legs torn off in the explosion in Monaco, while the man himself sustained burns and shrapnel wounds. This was reported on June 30 by the French newspaper Nice-Matin, citing sources.
“The woman, whose lower limbs were partially ripped off by the blast, is in critical condition. Her identity has not yet been determined,” the article states.
The publication’s authors also note that, according to preliminary information, the victims of the attack are businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, his wife, and their daughter born in 2012. The Ukrainian businessman reportedly suffered shrapnel injuries from glass and multiple burns from the explosion. The condition of two of the three injured is described as “extremely serious.”
An explosion occurred the day before in the historic center of Monaco. As a result, three people were injured, two of whom sustained severe trauma. Before the blast, surveillance cameras captured an unidentified man leaving a backpack at the entrance of the building just as the victims were entering, after which he fled. To apprehend the perpetrator, the principality activated a “red interception plan.”
