The cast of the prequel to the crime comedy Ocean’s Eleven continues to grow with high-profile names. Vicky Krieps, best known for Paul Thomas Anderson’s drama Phantom Thread, and George MacKay, who gained fame for his lead role in Sam Mendes’ war epic 1917, have joined the Warner Bros. project. Additionally, French actor Omar Sy, star of the Netflix series Lupin, is in negotiations to take part in the film.
Bradley Cooper is at the helm of the movie, serving not only as director and screenwriter but also taking on one of the lead roles and acting as a producer. He will be joined by Margot Robbie, who will also appear on screen and produce the project through her label LuckyChap alongside Tom Ackerley. Filming is set to begin in late July 2026 in Paris, before moving to the south of France.
The story is expected to unfold in 1963 during the Monaco Grand Prix. Unlike the previous installments, audiences can look forward to a completely different narrative this time—a prequel with a stylish retro vibe.
According to available information, Cooper and Robbie’s characters will play the parents of the future legendary con artist Danny Ocean, originally portrayed by George Clooney. For obvious reasons, neither Clooney nor his star-studded team are expected to return for this project.
