Telegram has removed the channel of a VPN service linked to cybercriminal infrastructure in order to restore access to the t.me domain. This was reported by Domain.me, the company that manages the .me domain zone, which is owned by Montenegro.
The domain was blocked due to U.S. sanctions against the VPN service, whose channel was hosted on Telegram. A link to this channel was included in the restrictions list issued by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The VPN service in question had been operational since 2014 and was promoted on underground forums as a tool that maintained no activity logs and refused to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. According to U.S. and European authorities, its infrastructure was used by at least 25 groups associated with ransomware programs.
In May 2026, the service was dismantled by the FBI and European law enforcement agencies. After the Telegram channel was added to the sanctions list, Domain.me suspended the t.me domain, as it was used in a link pointing to the prohibited resource.
