A massive recall of over 200,000 pairs of children’s sandals has been launched in the United States due to a choking hazard—this was reported by CBS News, citing the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall applies to sandals from the Cat & Jack brand, which are characterized by two woven straps, gold-toned fasteners, and decorative plastic pearls. This footwear was available for purchase from January through May 2026, with a retail price of approximately $20.
According to the regulatory agency, the manufacturer has received 23 complaints indicating that the decorative elements can detach from the shoes, potentially posing a risk of entering a child’s airway. As of the report’s publication, no cases of injuries or other incidents have been reported.
As part of the recall campaign, customers are being offered the option to return the purchased shoes and receive a full refund of the money paid.
