The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) removed American leader Donald Trump from the official photograph of the Spanish national team, taken after the squad’s victory in the 2026 World Cup final. This became known on July 19 from a FIFA post on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
It is known that Trump was initially present at the awards ceremony and stood near the team, but in the final version of the image, he is absent. The Spanish team also published a celebratory photo, and in that one, the U.S. president was likewise not included.
As reported, after the Spanish team received their medals and the trophy, the players along with the coaches lined up for a group photo. At that moment, the U.S. president happened to be nearby—he approached the team and positioned himself at the side, appearing in the frame. However, some time later, FIFA President Gianni Infantino guided the politician away.
On July 19, the Spanish national team defeated Argentina in the World Cup final. In the winning side, forward Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal (106th minute), assisted by striker Nico Williams. During the match, two Spanish goals were also disallowed.
