Apple’s App Store may soon introduce an AI-powered virtual assistant. The updated privacy policy includes a section on a “Virtual Shopping Assistant,” which appears to function as a chatbot. This was reported by Ferra.
The new AI assistant will collect user data, including account information, device details, carrier data, chat history, and location data—if permission is granted. Apple promises that personal identifiers will be removed before any data is shared with third-party partners. Chat logs will be retained to allow users to return to previous conversations and for internal analytics purposes.
It has not yet been specified who Apple’s partner will be for this project. However, experts suggest it could be Google.
