Apple has released the iOS 26.6 update and strongly advises users to install it on their iPhones as soon as possible. This was reported by Forbes magazine.
The new OS version addresses over 90 vulnerabilities. There are few notable new features in this release; the main focus is on bug fixes and strengthening security. In addition, the update lays the groundwork for a smarter version of Siri, scheduled for release in the fall.
Apple does not disclose a detailed list of fixed issues — this is a standard practice designed to give users time to install the patch before attackers start exploiting the vulnerabilities. However, experts interviewed by Forbes highlighted several closed issues, particularly flaws in the WebKit engine, which powers the Safari browser.
Daniel Card, a cybersecurity consultant at Xservus Limited, broke down several critical vulnerabilities:
- CVE‑2026‑64730 — allows attackers to manipulate the user interface elements on a compromised website. This can be used for phishing, for example, to show a fake login form to users.
- CVE‑2026‑64735 — enables bypassing network filters, reducing the effectiveness of the device’s protective mechanisms.
- CVE‑2026‑64721 — can lead to the leakage of users’ confidential information.
In addition to these vulnerabilities, other serious security issues were also fixed, including flaws that could allow arbitrary code execution when processing specially crafted files.
Alongside the update, regulatory proceedings continue. In early July, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) issued a warning to Apple regarding the discrimination against Russian services. The regulator believes that iOS settings put domestic services at a disadvantage compared to foreign counterparts.
Against the backdrop of security news and regulatory risks, Apple remains the world’s most valuable company. Its stock price on the Nasdaq exchange reached 334.32pershare(anincreaseofapproximately0.2 4.9 trillion.
