Chinese brand Tecno has unveiled a concept smartphone featuring a display that spans the entire front surface of the device. According to the manufacturer, the bezel width between the active display area and the frame is 0 mm — a notable departure from conventional designs.
To achieve this look, Tecno’s engineers rethought the internal component layout, the housing design, and the screen integration method. In typical smartphones, technical gaps and display module elements create a black border around the image, usually about 1–2 mm wide. In this concept model, however, the image extends right to the edges of the casing, delivering a true edge‑to‑edge visual experience.
Despite the near‑borderless design, the device retains a circular cutout at the top of the screen for the front‑facing camera. The engineering changes also involved repositioning the cameras, adjusting the touch layer and audio system components, and adapting the user interface to suit the new form factor. Tecno plans to leverage these technologies in future commercial devices.
The concept will be showcased publicly in September at the IFA 2026 international electronics exhibition. The smartphone’s specifications and any potential release date for a commercial version remain undisclosed.
